Each scissor slipis machine-stitched out of plant-dyed wool felt and features a botanical design hand stitched with silk/mohair yarn. The felt was dyed using natural dyes in the Kata Golda studio.

The Kata Golda studio, owned and run by Allison Kaplan, is nestled snugly in the small, mossy seaside town of Port Townsend, Washington. Much of the inspiration for her work comes from the subtle details in the natural world, where nothing is straight and nothing is perfect. Allison creates slowly and with intention and tries to use up every little scrap of fabric. The things she make take time. Allison find immense joy in sharing her love of hand work with others through free sewing tutorials, DIY kits, and carefully curated bundles of plant-dyed fabrics.
