These hand-dyed and hand-embroidered pocket purses are the most adorable way to keep track of your necessities! Pay homage to the historical tie-on waist pockets that were typically worn under women's skirts between the 17th and 19th centuries by showing off your handmade pocket purse!
Each plant-dyed pocket purse has a hand stitched botanical tea-dyed patch. The designs have a little pop of color stitched using mohair/silk yarn from the Lamb & Kid which comes in such a beautiful array of colors. This perfect little purse can be worn cross-body, over your shoulder, or around your waist. Each purse is machine-stitched and has an adjustable cotton strap.
Fabric colors will vary due to the natural dying process.
MATERIALS
Plant-dyed organic cotton/hemp body
Cotton strap
MEASUREMENTS
7 x 5.5 inches at the bottom of the purse, tapering slightly to a 4.5 inch opening.
The straps measure 27” each
CARE
Delicate wash, line dry.
ABOUT Kata Golda
The Kata Golda studio, owned and run by Allison Kaplan, is nestled snugly in the small, mossy seaside town of Port Townsend, Washington. Much of the inspiration for her work comes from the subtle details in the natural world, where nothing is straight and nothing is perfect. Allison creates slowly and with intention and tries to use up every little scrap of fabric. The things she make take time. Allison find immense joy in sharing her love of hand work with others through free sewing tutorials, DIY kits, and carefully curated bundles of plant-dyed fabrics. Taking the time to slow down and make something with your hands using quality materials is such a gift, and she feel so lucky to do this work.
