World Embroidery Series III Kit

This TATTER-curated kit supports the six classes in our third World Embroidery Series! Most of the suggested materials for each class are included in this kit for your convenience. Please look at individual class pages for the full list of suggested materials for each class.

Included in this kit is:

  • (1) Embroidery hoop
  • (1) Erasable Frixion pen
  • (1) Pair of blue snips by Tatter
  • (6) Skeins of six-strand cotton embroidery thread by Tatter
  • (2) Skeins of Soie d'Alger silk threads
  • (3) Skeins of DMC cotton floss
  • (2) Spools of Soie Gobelins 2-ply silk threads 
  • (1)Skein sport-weight cotton thread
  • (1) Pack of embroidery needles, size 5
  • (1) Pack of sashiko needles
  • (1) Short darning needle
  • (2) Quilting Mi Longues needles
  • (1) 12" x 12" piece of medium weight natural colored linen
  • (2) 12" x 12" pieces of natural Kona Cotton
  • (1) 12" x 12" piece of blue Essex Linen/Cotton blend
  • (1) 10" x 10" piece of cotton with design for Otomí (hand-drawn by Tenango artisans!)
  • (1) Fat quarter of blue gingham cotton
  • (1) 5" x 6.5" piece of dark blue twill cotton
  • (1) 5" x 6.5" piece of Azumino mommen sashiko fabric
  • (1) 5" x 6.5" piece of sheer fusible web
  • (2) sheets white carbon tracing paper

This kit also includes a Passport Kit, which consists of:

  • (1) Blue linen printed with passport cover design
  • (1) Lining fabric
  • (1) Lining pocket fabric
  • (4) White cotton fabric pages
  • (1) Ribbon

With each class you take, you will be able to add an embroidered stamp to your passport. As we continue to offer world embroidery classes, you will have the chance to grow your passport and create a sample book that showcases all of the places that we have been together. Your passport is a record of the variety of world embroidery practices that also pulls together the shared history of these practices, how they fit together in an ever changing and ever more connected global family. Each page and each place you stitch becomes a part of you, embodied in your hands, a document of belonging and connectedness across time and continents.
