World Embroidery Series II Kit

 

This kit is composed of all of the necessary items to support all six classes in our  second World Embroidery Series!

Included in the kit is:

  • (1) Embroidery hoop
  • (1) Erasable Frixion pen
  • (1) Pair of blue snips by Tatter
  • (1) Sewing/beading awl
  • (4) DMC floss, variety of colors
  • (3) skeins of six-strand cotton embroidery thread by Tatter
  • (2) DMC pearl cotton in size 8 and 12, two colors
  • (3) spools of Soie d'Alger, variety of colors
  • (1) spool of rayon gimp
  • (1) Pack of embroidery needles, sizes 1-5
  • (1) Pack of embroidery needles, sizes 5-10
  • (1) Embroidery needle size 18
  • (1/2 yd) Beading wire, gauge 26
  • (1/2 yd) Cloth covered stem wire, gauge 22
  • (5) 12" x 12" pieces of white cotton/linen
  • (1) 6" x 7" piece of red Kona cotton
  • (1) 6" x 7" piece of Azumino-Momen Sashiko Fabric
  • (1) 6" x 7" piece of sheer fusible web
  • (1) piece of waste canvas

This kit also includes a Passport Kit, which consists of:

  • (1) Blue linen printed with passport cover design
  • (1) Lining fabric
  • (1) Lining pocket fabric
  • (4) White cotton fabric pages
  • (1) Ribbon

With each class you take, you will be able to add an embroidered stamp to your passport. As we continue to offer world embroidery classes, you will have the chance to grow your passport and create a sample book that showcases all of the places that we have been together. Your passport is a record of the variety of world embroidery practices that also pulls together the shared history of these practices, how they fit together in an ever changing and ever more connected global family. Each page and each place you stitch becomes a part of you, embodied in your hands, a document of belonging and connectedness across time and continents.
