We are excited to introduce a new line of porcelain thimbles, designed and made in Brooklyn. For sewists, a thimble can often be a practice-changing notion. The protection offered from a wayward needle can make all the difference in the world, as you pin, tuck, and stitch away at your latest creation. These thimbles offer this protection, and so much more. These are a true opportunity to create a future family heirloom. Thimbles come in two styles, a traditional closed top, and an open-top tailor's thimble. Some feature real gold-leaf details. No two are alike, each delightfully unique in shape, design, and size! 

We recommend taking measurements of the middle finger of your sewing hand to better find a thimble that fits. Please note that these are not traditional, mass-produced thimbles, and textural variation is to be expected.

About the Maker
Melissa Goldstein (Mg by hand) is a ceramicist based in Brooklyn, New York. She draws inspiration for her work from 17th century botanical illustrations, still life paintings, visits to art museums, as well as many hours spent tending to her back yard garden. Her time spent pruning peonies and deadheading poppies allows her to adorn her ceramic work with floral designs rendered in acute detail. Her work can be seen on her instagram @mg.byhand.
